Seeing Ron Cooper's work for the first time around 2012 in various Pacific Standard Time exhibitions---San Diego, Pomona in particular as part of the the Getty initiative of said name which in turn grounded a version of local art history---was a revelation. I had not known about him prior and was certainly drawn and keen to seen and know more. Occasionally, I run into his work here and there (Harwood in Taos; Louis Stern Fine Arts), and am reminded of what seems interesting and how we might share interests. But, ulitmately, it's curious how little he is shown or known.
