Gene Youngblood via Skype introducing Stan VanDerBeek "Newsreel of Dreams" at MOCA LA

Such a wonderfully odd and quirky moment, I couldn't help but attempt to capture it, Gene Youngblood's introduction to this screening via Skype.  I also couldn't help but think about Youngblood's Expanded Cinema and how this presentation fulfilled a version that I'm sure he had not considered possible in 1970 when he wrote the book. Or did he? Whatever the case, the remainder of the evening was an absolute pleasure to view a handful of VanDerBeek films. Some I had seen in the context of his recent show, "Poemfield" at The Box (see here), and many I had never seen before and would already like to see again.  See here for details about the screening at MOCA.
