Patrick Wilson and Michael Reafsnyder @ Vielmetter

Taken as a whole, these two shows (running parallel at the same gallery) might appear like a contrast in terms. Upon further reflection, how Wilson lays it thick by thin and the Reafsnyder thick by thick, is certainly a shared interest in the obsession of a lot of paint, albeit highly constrained on the one hand and hammier (is that a word?) on the other. I suspect somewhere between these points would be my preference where looser edges would embrace transparent layers.
